Garden Blitz
A New Leaf Foods Project
The mission of the Garden Blitz is to empower Green Bay residents to grow food and be part of a sustainable urban agricultural system. After 10 years of installing garden boxes, we continue to ensure access to nutritious whole foods that create a healthier, more beautiful community, one garden at a time!
Since 2014, volunteers have installed over 945 raised bed garden boxes in Green Bay schools, homes, pantries, and organizations. 130 mentors have taught over 150 new gardeners how to get started. Over 100 volunteers have spread the soil and planted the seeds for Good Food for Good Health for so many Green Bay families.
Garden Mentorship
Since 2013, New Leaf Foods paired more than 140 new gardeners with over 120 experienced garden mentors with mentees.
Volunteer mentors are trained and given a resource guide with helpful handouts, tips, and topics to cover with their mentee.
Garden box purchasers are eligible to sign up for the program. Garden mentors provide guidance and assistance as the mentee builds gardening confidence in their first growing season.
